I am/was a resident of this facility
I'm staying at Anchor Bay at Pocasset. I like it here. The people are very nice. They have a few activities, not as many as I would like. I'm trying to start a knitting club, so I'm hoping we get one pretty soon. I live on the third floor. The third floor does need some work. Evidently, there was a ceiling leak at one point, and it's been a while. They have an elevator to come up here. I like the apartment. I enjoy the food. They have a good selection. It's different every day and they have dessert. They're small portions, but that's plenty for us.There are some nuns that live on this floor, too, and I've become friendly with them. We have religious services, which I enjoy going to. We play Pokeno and we have bingo. There's always something going. They have entertainment a couple of times a week. They have people that come in and sing and play instruments and they have baby animals that come in. It's very nice and the grounds are beautiful. The staff members try very hard. I had been looking at other places and those were quite a bit more expensive.

I went to Anchor Bay at Pocasset. They were friendly, but they weren't as friendly as they were at the other place. They had bingo. They had somebody coming in and singing or meditating for them. They had exercises every day. They had some kind of religious service. They had computer usage and WI-FI. They would mount your pictures on the wall. They had golf, table games, card games, and tours where they took people out. If you're going out to a restaurant, you can go out with a group of people and you pay for yourself. There's a lot of activities. Every day, you would get a sheet with the activities that they had. The staff was very nice. The food was very good.

I visited this facility
Anchor Bay at Pocasset was very nice from what we saw. The person that we spoke with was very helpful and very congenial. They have walking paths and places to sit outside. They took us to different one-bedroom and single-room units to see how they were. They've kept in contact with us for quite a while after we had looked there. We didn't check or taste the meals. They include three meals a day. They had shuttle busses that took you to wherever you wanted to go as far as doctors, stores, and stuff like that. It was all included. The staff members were very, very good and answered all our questions. The facility was well maintained. Everything was clean inside. The person that we spoke with was very helpful, followed through on a lot of things, and gave us a lot of information.

I toured Anchor Bay at Pocasset. I thought it was very nice and had a lot to offer, but it was just a terrible time and an inopportune time for me to make the move. The people were very nice, very cordial, and very welcoming. The lady that gave us the tour was terrific. There seemed to be quite a few activities, I'm not interested in any of the activities, but from what I understood, there were quite a few to offer.

My aunt is living in this assisted living. The food is horrible, they can’t seem to find a good chef. The room cleaning service is horrendous. My aunt dropped something under her bed weeks ago and she had to wait for us to visit to get it for her. The don’t even hang up your clothes after they wash them for you they throw them on your bed. They vacuum for 30 seconds and they're done. Starting to look for another place for her. Not to mention you never get a returned call or email back from Robin because she’s to busy doing nothing. She can never answer you honestly anyways. She just pacifies you and tells you what you what you want to hear. Stay away from Anchor Bay at Pocasset if you want to live.

My cousin just signed for an apartment at Anchor Bay at Pocasset in Rhode Island, so he'll be moving there. We are also familiar with the place because my mom was there for a while. What I really like is that there's a lot of open areas and walking trails on the property. The people are all extremely friendly and helpful. There's been a new owner since my mother was there, so they've done a lot of renovating and refurbishing, and it's very pleasant.Denise was excellent, she was very patient, and kind. She's been really great. We haven't had any meals there but they have a very attractive dining area. For activities, I know they usually do little trips to the parks and they still have other things that they do. They have a pool table and there's a game room. They also have laundry on every floor.

Anchor Bay at Pocasset looked very nice. My parents just decided that it was a little too small and that they didn't need all of the amenities yet, but they are considering it a "maybe" for the future. They had a great facility with caring staff and nice amenities. The staff was very informative, helpful, and caring. The facility was updated and very clean. They had a courtyard and a movie theater. It was conveniently located in Rhode Island.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
I wish I could say something nice about Anchor Bay other than the fact that there are at least 2 people who work there who seem to care about the residents. But I can't.I thought Anchor Bay would be the place where my mom and dad would relax and spend some of their latter years. No. This place is poorly run, management doesn't seem to care and my parents, and my aunt who all lived there almost 3 months have called crying saying they have to get out. Why? I honestly think the employees are miserable. It seems as every single request we make to help support our loved ones is met with rolled eye-balls or some oft-putting comment. It is awful.I think it must start at the top. Their executive director hasn't answered any of my emails or phone calls. It is like we don't exist. My parents room hasn't been cleaned in over a month, and mom has said to me many times - "I think they hate me here, i must leave." It makes me sad.It is a sad state when your octogenarian parents feel hated (or at least nor cared for) by their caretakers.Since COVID we understand that we can't visit, which is understandable. However, when perishable groceries sit in the lobby for 2 days because people are too busy to bring it to their room, you begin to feel as though the employees might consider working somewhere else. Dad says he is treated better at the checkout at Walmart.Requests to bring medicines to their room, to bring up gifts or food, or to get someone to bring fresh sheets, etc. often times go unanswered. I can go on and on. Suffice it to say that after only 10 weeks, we are moving them to another facility up the road. Already, I can see how much better their lives will be. I actually receive call backs. My emails are answered. I get the sense that people care - these are things that are missing at Anchor Bay. If you care about the elderly in your family, i strongly suggest you look elsewhere. It really pains me to write this review because of the few people who really try, however when speaking with other members of my family who have all had interactions with staff, they urged me to write this to hopefully save some of you out there who really care about where their elders go and how they are cared for.

I visited this facility
I've been to here and it's a very nice facility. I visited the independent living. It was spotless, and it was like going into a luxury hotel. The grounds were immaculate, and it looked like condominiums to me. The staff was very friendly, and I met some of the people that reside there. They had a beauty salon, Bingo, exercises, arts and crafts, and they have movie night with popcorn. They had a full calendar of activities.

I like it because they have a separate building for independent living. It had a really homey atmosphere and an outdoor space with a deck or patio for every apartment. I had a light snack, and the food was really good. I liked the woman who showed me around; she was very knowledgeable.

I thought it was really nice. The staff seemed very nice, very helpful, and were able to answer all the questions that I had. But the facilities were a little bit more than my parents were looking. They were looking for more independent. Other than that, I really liked the place. At the time that I went, there was an outing going on, and they were getting everybody ready to go out somewhere. It seems to have plenty of activities and things to do.

We will give the highest rating possible because they are very helpful, and the facility has worked out very positively. The strengths that I will recognize is the fact that all of the staff are very caring and very helpful people who willingly make the transition of our aunt as seamless as possible. We really did appreciate that.

My parents are here. The facilities are beautiful like the dining area, and the staff is very nice. However, their apartment does not have a small burner range. They have a small refrigerator and a microwave, but that is all they have for the kitchen. My father gets up at five, and the dining room does not open until seven. I like all the outside stuff, but as far as inside the apartment, I am not really impressed. It has a beautiful landscape, but I noticed all the plants inside are plastic. They do take good care of the residents, and my parents are very satisfied.

I am/was a resident of this facility
My two daughters chose it. My room sure is large. I don’t know how they could give you a room this big, but I have it. The staff is very nice. I had pneumonia and stayed in my room for a few days, and I was brought my meals and was well taken care of. The food is alright. It’s not the best; it’s not the worst. They have bingo, socials, and card playing, but at my age, I don’t participate in anything but the bingo. I’m very satisfied.

I visited this facility
We chose it basically it was the only place my parent looked at. Even though she wanted to look at other places, but after she saw this place, she liked it so she decided to just go there. Location had a lot to do with it also. In terms of quality, we have not had one solitary bad review from anybody who either live there or know somebody there. Everyone has a good review. The staff is very nice. Her apartment is perfect. She has a gorgeous view of the woods behind her apartment. She's pretty happy there. Regarding food, I actually did try their food and it was pretty good. It's not like going to a restaurant, but it is not too bad. As far as activities, she has only been there since October but she has been on shopping trips and she has been to several parties. We even went to a Christmas party with her that was held there. She also goes to church and does things inside like bingo. They also have entertainment come in. Overall, they seem to have something more than a couple of things to pick from everyday. This facility is great. I would recommend them to others, and in fact, we already did.

I am a past client of this provider
We were able to visit the facility when we were looking for a place for my aunt. The people were excellent to deal with and very honest. It looked like a nice facility and the people were very friendly. She was about to move there except that she died right before she moved. After she passed away, they were phenomenal. They never even asked for payment for the apartment. I recommend this place to others.
